When a roof starts leaking or presents any problems, like missing shingles, the best thing to do is to replace it. What we did in this job:
- Place Dump trailer on job site
- Protect all plants, outdoor furniture, and pool (if present)
- Remove old shingles
- Remove underlayment
- Remove metal from valleys
- Repair all rotten deking
- Install ice and water shield instead of valley metal
- Install drip edge and starter
- Place new underlayment
- Nail new shingles according to manufacturer specifications and building code
- Install ridge vent and cap shingles
- Seal and paint all roof accessories and vents.
